Taipei, Taiwan, April 28, 2017 – QNAP® Systems, Inc. today released DJ2 Live, a live-streaming app for QNAP NAS that can broadcast in 4K and directly save recorded footage to the NAS for future usage. DJ2 Live is the perfect tool for businesses and organizations when hosting conference, seminars, training or gaming events. DJ2 Live also allows for simultaneous streaming to public cloud services to reach a wider audience (including Facebook®, YouTube™, and platforms that support Real-time Messaging Protocol).

“Live streaming and online broadcasting have become increasingly popular. DJ2 Live provides companies and individuals with a secure private channel to share information with their audience and enables real-time audience interaction to increase engagement,” said Mars Kuo, Product Manager of QNAP. “Video streams can also be saved on the NAS for future re-broadcasting, extending one-time events into multiple-use material,” Kuo added.

DJ2 Live receives signals digitized by a video or audio encoder (e.x. XSplit) from the source media (a video camera with screen capture box or an audio interface), then publishes live streams through QNAP NAS. With real-time transcoding technology, users can watch the broadcast with a suitable resolution based on their bandwidth. Other features include: access controls (Google OAuth), secure connection (SSL) and scalable live streaming with CDN. The DJ2 Live API also allows for third-party applications and system integration.

XSplit, one of QNAP live streaming ecosystem partners, provides an easy-to-use interface, a variety of professional production features, and custom plug-ins (such as multiple scenes switching, background eraser, and more) to give broadcasts a personal touch. “We’re very excited to bring QNAP’s DJ2 Live solution to our growing user base of streamers and content creators. We hope to further embolden ambitious users and companies looking for a centralized solution that allows them to distribute their live broadcast both to their intranet and public streaming sites, while storing their live video for immediate editing on the LAN,” said Henrik Levring, Chief Executive Officer of SplitmediaLabs Limited.
