Huawei MateBook X Pro Linux Edition Now Available

Huawei MateBook X Pro with Linux is now on sale via Huawei Mall and JD.com, starting at $1429.99. After applying a national subsidy of $274.99, the effective price drops to $1154.99—$41.99. less than the Windows version.

According to the product page, the hardware is identical across all versions; the only difference is the pre-installed operating system. However, the Linux version does not support certain features like one-touch file transfer and fingerprint login found in Windows. These functions can be restored if users install the Windows OS and Huawei drivers manually.

Huawei confirms that users can install other operating systems based on their needs, though it does not offer support for such changes. Activation keys for third-party systems must be purchased separately.

The Huawei MateBook X Pro features a 14.2-inch flexible OLED display with a 93% screen-to-body ratio, 3120×2080 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 1.07 billion color support, 1000 nits peak brightness, and 1440Hz PWM dimming.

It runs on the Intel Core Ultra 7 processor, includes a 70Wh battery, and supports 140W fast charging.
