Xiaomi’s New Smart Lock Has Nine Ways to Open the Door
Xiaomi has launched sales of the Smart Door Lock 2 Large Screen Cat’s Eye Edition, which combines the functions of intelligent biometrics and video surveillance systems, IXBT reports.
Xiaomi’s New Smart Lock Details
The lock supports nine authentication methods, including AI fingerprint recognition, one-time and permanent passwords, Bluetooth, NFC, and a classic mechanical key. The declared unlocking speed is less than 0.5 seconds with an accuracy of over 99.51%.

The lock is equipped with a 160-degree camera with IR illumination and a two-megapixel sensor, and also supports night mode and full-color imaging in low light. Within the ecosystem, users have access to a notification system and remote access in the Mi Home mobile application.

Smart Door Lock 2 Large Screen Cat’s Eye Edition also has a built-in 3.5-inch screen. The device is compatible with Xiaomi ecosystem products and can be used for remote communication as a camera and speaker. The lock is powered by a 5000 mAh battery together with a set of four alkaline batteries designed for six months of autonomous operation. There is also a backup USB-C port for emergency charging.

In China, Xiaomi Smart Door Lock 2 Large Screen Cat’s Eye Edition is offered for 1,599 yuan (about 222 USD).
