MSI expands GeForce RTX 50-series range with new GAMING DUKE RTX 5070 cards

MSI expands GeForce RTX 50-series range with new GAMING DUKE RTX 5070 cards

MSI has once again quietly expanded its GeForce RTX 50-series lineup, this time introducing new GAMING DUKE models based on the upcoming GeForce RTX 5070 12 GB graphics card. Available in both standard and factory-overclocked versions, the new cards come with an “almost perfect” two-slot thickness, making them a good fit for many PC builds.

This move follows MSI’s recent pattern of launching new designs for their GeForce RTX 50-series “Blackwell” lineup without much official announcement. Earlier this year, MSI refreshed its SHADOW 3X series in February and later added dual-fan models in March, both with minimal public attention. Now, thanks to a discovery by VideoCardz over the weekend, we know that MSI has listed the GeForce RTX 5070 12G GAMING DUKE 3X OC and its non-overclocked sibling on its global website. With these two new additions, MSI’s total number of custom GB205-based GPU models has reached 21 SKUs.

According to VideoCardz, the new series is expected to sit between MSI’s existing SHADOW and VENTUS ranges. This suggests that the new cards could be priced more affordably, possibly sticking closer to the manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) compared to premium models.

The GAMING DUKE name might sound new to some, but MSI had already introduced a GAMING DUKE model in April last year with the GeForce RTX 4060 GAMING DUKE 8 GB, although it was limited to the Chinese market at that time.

For this year’s version, MSI describes the updated GAMING DUKE design as focusing on “speed and strength.” Their latest promotional materials highlight that the series is “channeling the power of the dragon” to deliver smooth and stable gaming performance. The cards come with a tough, shadowy, all-black look, strengthened by a metal backplate. MSI also adds glowing accents to give the design a bit of energy and character.

More Gaming Duke models expected with upcoming RTX 5060 Ti and RTX 5060 cards

Industry insiders expect that MSI will not stop here. It is believed that smaller GAMING DUKE cards based on the upcoming GeForce RTX 5060 Ti and RTX 5060 could be next in line, further growing the DUKE family.

For now, gamers looking for a strong but possibly more budget-friendly RTX 5070 option should keep an eye on these upcoming GAMING DUKE models.
