Shokz unveils OpenDots ONE: Lightweight clip-on earbuds with Dolby Audio and 40-hour battery life
Shokz, known for pushing boundaries in open-ear audio, has officially introduced the OpenDots ONE, a clip-on style pair of earbuds that bring a new form factor to its product range. Designed for everyday convenience and all-day wear, the OpenDots ONE blend sleek aesthetics, powerful sound, and Shokz’s signature open-ear design for users who want comfort, awareness, and audio quality in one lightweight package.
With the OpenDots ONE, Shokz debuts its first-ever clip-on earbuds. Unlike traditional in-ear or bone conduction models, these weigh just 6.5g per earbud and use a flexible nickel-titanium JointArc to clip securely onto the ear. The design ensures a soft yet firm grip suitable for a wide range of ear shapes. Soft silicone on the speaker’s outer surface further reduces pressure, allowing users to wear them for hours without discomfort. “The introduction of OpenDots ONE represents an exciting evolution for Shokz,” said Roger Zhang, Head of Product Innovation at Shokz. “We’re committed to developing products that support this expanding lifestyle segment, and OpenDots ONE was designed for those moments.”
Despite their compact size, OpenDots ONE packs impressive audio performance. At the heart of the sound system is Bassphere Technology, which uses dual 11.8 mm drivers within a spherical acoustic module to simulate the output of a 16 mm driver. This setup delivers vibrant bass and crisp highs while maintaining situational awareness—one of the key benefits of Shokz’s open-ear approach. The OpenDots ONE is also Shokz’s first product to support Dolby Audio, promising a rich, immersive experience with enhanced depth and clarity. The DirectPitch™ Technology minimises sound leakage, ensuring privacy and clearer audio in open environments.
Battery life is another standout feature, with up to 10 hours of playback on a single charge and up to 40 hours using the included case, which also supports wireless charging. The earbuds have an IP54 rating, offering protection against sweat and light rain, making them suitable for active users and daily commuting alike. One of the unique additions is Dynamic Ear Detection, a smart system that identifies which earbud is in which ear—eliminating the need for left or right labels. Users can control music or calls with Intuitive Touch Controls by tapping or pinching the JointArc or battery compartment, allowing for a smooth and intuitive interface.
