Rockstar promises perfection as GTA VI delayed to November 2026

Fans will have to wait a little longer to return to Vice City, as Rockstar Games has officially delayed Grand Theft Auto VI once again. The game is now set to launch on 19 November 2026, a few months later than its last announced date in May 2026.

In a statement released on Thursday, Rockstar said the delay was needed to give the team more time for final polishing and improvements. The studio explained that these extra months would help make sure the game lives up to the high expectations of fans around the world. “We are sorry for adding additional time to what we realize has been a long wait, but these extra months will allow us to finish the game with the level of polish you have come to expect and deserve,” the statement read.

The game will take players to the state of Leonida, home to a modern-day version of Vice City. With stunning visuals, improved AI, and a living open world, GTA VI is shaping up to be one of the biggest gaming releases of the decade even if it’s taking longer to arrive than expected.

This delay comes just before Take-Two Interactive’s quarterly earnings report and follows recent layoffs at Rockstar, which reportedly affected 30 to 40 employees in the UK and Canada. The Independent Workers Union of Great Britain (IWGB) accused Rockstar of unfair treatment, claiming that some of the dismissed workers were union members or were planning to join.

Despite this, Rockstar remains confident that the wait will be worth it. The studio has built a strong reputation for delivering top-quality games, and it seems determined to make GTA VI another masterpiece. This marks the third delay for the game, originally expected in 2025 before being moved to May 2026 earlier this year.

While it’s disappointing news for fans, the promise of a more polished and complete experience gives hope that when GTA VI finally arrives, it will be everything players have dreamed of and more.
