Thermaltake Toughpower i2000W arrives as a strong and reliable power upgrade for AI PCs

Thermaltake has announced a new high-capacity power supply called the Toughpower i2000W. This model is designed for users who need extreme power for artificial intelligence work and professional PC systems rather than normal gaming builds.

The Toughpower i2000W provides 2,000 watts of continuous power, making it suitable for systems that use multiple high-end graphics cards. These types of setups are often used in AI research, data processing, and advanced computing at homes, offices, and universities.

One key feature of the Toughpower i2000W is the presence of four native 12V-2×6 connectors. This allows the power supply to support up to four modern graphics cards at the same time. These connectors are made for PCI-Express 5.1 GPUs and are built to handle high and stable power delivery during heavy workloads.

In terms of efficiency, the Toughpower i2000W carries an 80 PLUS Platinum rating. This means it can reach up to 92 percent efficiency, helping reduce energy loss and excess heat. Inside the unit, Thermaltake uses Japanese capacitors, aluminium heatsinks, and a large 140mm cooling fan to maintain stable operation.

The cooling system includes PWM control and Smart Zero Fan mode. When the system load is low, the fan can stop spinning, allowing the power supply to run quietly.

Thermaltake has also added visual safety checks to the power connectors. The 16-pin GPU connectors are painted so users can easily confirm proper insertion. When no black colour is visible, the connector is fully connected, reducing the risk of power issues.

Users can choose between single-rail and multi-rail modes for the +12V output. This allows better control over power distribution and system protection. The Toughpower i2000W also includes full safety protection, such as over-current, over-voltage, under-voltage, short-circuit, over-power, and over-temperature protection.

According to Thermaltake, the Toughpower i2000W is built to last for at least 100,000 hours of use. Because of this long lifespan, the power supply comes with a 10-year warranty.

Toughpower i2000W pricing and availability

Pricing has not been officially confirmed. However, the Toughpower i2000W is expected to be priced around €1,000 when it becomes available.

With its high power output, modern connectors, and smart monitoring features, the Toughpower i2000W is clearly aimed at users building advanced AI and professional computing systems.
