NVIDIA reveals powerful DLSS 5 with real time neural graphics boost

NVIDIA has officially introduced DLSS 5, its latest and most advanced graphics technology. The company says this is one of its biggest upgrades in years, aiming to make game visuals look closer to real life than ever before.

DLSS 5 uses a new real-time neural rendering system. In simple words, it uses AI to improve how every frame looks while you are playing. It adds better lighting, materials, and details without slowing down performance.

According to Jensen Huang, CEO of NVIDIA, this update is a major step forward. He compared it to a big turning point in graphics, where AI and traditional rendering now work together to create more realistic scenes.

For many years, game developers have tried to match movie-level graphics. But there is a big gap. Movies can take hours to render a single frame, while games must render frames in just milliseconds. DLSS 5 helps close this gap by using AI instead of only relying on raw power.

Earlier versions of DLSS focused mostly on performance, like increasing frame rates and upscaling resolution. DLSS 5 goes further. It improves visual quality directly by understanding the scene. It can recognise characters, skin, hair, fabric, and lighting conditions, then adjust them in real time.

This means better skin tones, more natural lighting, and more realistic materials in games. At the same time, everything stays stable and consistent from frame to frame, which is important for smooth gameplay.

Another useful feature is control for developers. Game creators can adjust how strong the effects are, change colours, and decide where the improvements should appear. This helps keep the original art style of each game.

DLSS 5 will also be easy to use for developers. It works with the same system already used for older DLSS versions, so studios can add it without major changes.

Many big game companies are already supporting DLSS 5. These include Bethesda, CAPCOM, Ubisoft, Tencent, and more. Early feedback from developers has been very positive, especially for how it improves lighting and realism.

Several upcoming and popular games are expected to use DLSS 5. These include Starfield, Hogwarts Legacy, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Delta Force, and Resident Evil Requiem.

NVIDIA DLSS 5 launch

DLSS 5 is expected to launch this fall. A preview is already being shown at the GTC event, giving players a first look at what next-generation graphics could feel like.
