Aphelion impresses with a thrilling first gameplay reveal
Don’t Nod has shared the first gameplay trailer for Aphelion, and it gives a strong and exciting look at what players can expect. The reveal took place during the Convergence Showcase and confirmed that the game is planned to launch in Spring 2026.
The new trailer shows real gameplay and focuses on the journey of Ariane and Thomas, two astronauts from European Space Agency. They are sent to explore Persephone, a strange and uncharted planet at the edge of the solar system. During their mission, things go wrong after a crash, leaving them to survive in a dangerous and unknown world.
In the gameplay, players can see strange anomalies, harsh environments, and an abandoned facility filled with mystery and fear. The trailer also hints at a deadly presence known as the Nemesis, a hostile lifeform that follows the characters and turns exploration into a tense fight for survival. The tone feels dark, slow, and heavy, with danger always close.
Aphelion is a third-person sci-fi action-adventure that mixes exploration, story, and survival. Players will need to scan the planet, uncover clues, and slowly learn what happened on Persephone, all while staying alive.
Aphelion game launch date
The Aphelion game will launch on PC via Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation 5. It will also support Xbox Play Anywhere and will be available on day one through Xbox Game Pass. A retail edition is already open for pre-order on PlayStation 5.
