LG brings a powerful upgrade with the 2026 LG gram laptops made lighter and smarter
LG has officially announced its 2026 LG gram laptop lineup at CES 2026, and it brings a fresh and exciting upgrade for users who care about light weight, strong build, and smart features. The new LG gram models focus on making everyday work easier while keeping the laptops easy to carry and pleasant to use.
The biggest change this year is a new material called Aerominum. LG developed this material to solve a common problem. Laptops are usually either light or strong, but rarely both. With Aerominum, LG says it has achieved both. The laptops are lighter than before, yet they feel solid and durable. The body resists scratches better and meets military grade durability standards, which means it can handle daily travel and long-term use with ease. The finish also looks premium, with a smooth metallic feel that does not add extra weight.

LG has also improved how smart the new gram laptops are. Selected models now come with dual AI support. This means they use both on device AI and cloud based AI. Users can get fast help even when there is no internet connection. The on device AI is powered by LG’s upgraded EXAONE 3.5 small language model, which keeps personal data private while offering quick assistance. These laptops also support Microsoft Copilot Plus PC features, making them more helpful for writing, planning, and creative work.
Performance has also received a boost. The 2026 LG gram models use the latest processors and are built to handle multitasking without slowing down. Whether someone is working on documents, editing content, or using AI tools, the laptops are designed to stay smooth and responsive.
Connectivity is another area where LG has focused strongly. The improved gram Link feature allows easy file sharing, screen sharing, and content transfer across many devices. Users can connect not only with Android and iOS phones, but also with LG TVs, monitors, and projectors that run on webOS. This makes gram Link feel like a single hub that connects different devices without worrying about operating system limits. It helps users move their work and media across screens without stress.
Security has not been ignored either. With LG ThinQ, users can remotely lock or erase their laptop if it is lost. This helps protect important files and personal data, offering peace of mind while travelling or working outside.
One of the most eye catching models is the LG gram Pro 17, also known as model 17Z90UR. LG claims this is the world’s lightest 17 inch RTX laptop. Even with a large 17 inch WQXGA display, the laptop remains close in size to a typical 16 inch device. It is powered by an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 laptop GPU with 8 GB of GDDR7 memory, making it suitable for creative work, graphics tasks, and even gaming, all without adding extra bulk.
Another strong option is the LG gram Pro 16, model 16Z90U. This laptop is designed for users who want strong AI features in a very light body. It comes with a 16 inch WQXGA Plus OLED display that looks sharp and rich, making it good for both work and creative tasks. With the latest Intel Core Ultra processors, it handles daily workloads smoothly while staying easy to carry.
Speaking about the launch, Lee Choong hwoan, head of the Display Business at the LG Media Entertainment Solution Company, said the 2026 LG gram marks a major step forward. He explained that Aerominum helps LG balance weight and durability, while the new AI and security features help users work, create, and connect wherever they go.
With its lighter body, smarter features, and strong performance, the 2026 LG gram lineup shows LG’s clear focus on making laptops that fit modern life. It is a confident move that strengthens LG’s position in the ultra portable laptop space and offers users a more comfortable and powerful daily computing experience.
