LG reveals powerful UltraGear EVO AI gaming monitors with smart upscaling

LG has officially revealed its new UltraGear EVO AI series of gaming monitors, aimed at gamers who want high performance with smart features. This new lineup sits in the enthusiast segment and brings built in AI tools directly into the monitor, without putting load on the PC’s CPU or GPU.

The UltraGear EVO series includes three models. Two are ultra wide displays, while one comes in a more traditional 16:9 shape. All three focus on smooth gameplay, sharp visuals, and smart image handling using AI.

LG UltraGear EVO AI Gaming

At the top of the lineup is the UltraGear EVO 52G930B. This is a massive 52 inch curved desktop monitor with a strong 1000R curve. It has a wide 5120 x 2160 resolution and a fast 240 Hz refresh rate, making it suitable for both immersive games and high frame rate play. LG is also promising wide colour support, which should help games look rich and lively.

The most eye catching model in the lineup is the UltraGear EVO AI 39GX950B. This monitor features built in AI upscaling that works inside the display itself. It does not use system resources, which means smoother performance for games. The screen has a 21:9 ultra wide shape, a 1500R curve, and can run at 5120 x 2160 resolution at 165 Hz. For competitive gaming, it can also switch to 2560 x 1080 resolution at a very fast 330 Hz.

This model also supports DisplayHDR True Black 500 and uses LG’s new primary RGB tandem OLED panel technology. Along with AI upscaling, the monitor can adjust image settings, improve screen clarity, manage spatial audio, and even optimise visuals based on game genre. All of this is handled by the monitor itself.

For users who prefer a standard screen shape, LG is offering the UltraGear EVO AI 27GM950B. This is a flat 27 inch monitor with a 16:9 aspect ratio. It actually has the highest resolution in the series, reaching 5120 x 2880 at 165 Hz, or 2560 x 1440 at 330 Hz. This model also stands out with DisplayHDR 1000 support, up to 1,250 nits of peak brightness, and a miniLED backlight with 2,304 local dimming zones.
