Ayaneo Pocket Micro 2 Brings Better Performance for Retro Gaming Fans

Ayaneo has officially announced the Ayaneo Pocket Micro 2, its latest horizontal retro gaming handheld, ahead of its launch event on June 26, 2026. The new model keeps the classic look that retro gaming fans love while adding modern hardware, improved controls, and longer battery life.

The Ayaneo Pocket Micro 2 follows Ayaneo’s REMAKE design style with a compact body made from a CNC-machined metal frame. It has a more comfortable shape with smoother edges for a better grip during long gaming sessions. Ayaneo is also introducing new color options that give the handheld a fresh look while keeping its retro feel.

The handheld features a 3.5-inch LCD TrueColor display with a 3:2 aspect ratio. This screen is designed to display classic handheld games, especially Game Boy Advance titles, without stretching the image. The result is a more natural viewing experience with bright colors and sharp details.

Powering the Ayaneo Pocket Micro 2 is a Qualcomm Snapdragon gaming processor. The upgraded hardware offers much better performance than the previous model, making it easy to run retro games at smooth frame rates while also handling many modern Android games. Ayaneo has also added an active cooling system to help keep performance stable during longer gaming sessions.

Battery life has also received a major improvement. The Ayaneo Pocket Micro 2 comes with a 3,950mAh battery, which is around 52% larger than the battery in the previous generation. This allows players to enjoy longer gaming sessions without worrying about charging as often.

Ayaneo has also upgraded the controls for a more comfortable gaming experience. The larger ABXY buttons and D-pad offer better feedback, while the conductive rubber design improves button response. The new recessed TMR dual joysticks promise zero drift and zero dead zones for more accurate control. The shoulder buttons have also been redesigned to reduce accidental presses and provide better feedback. Players can further customize controls using the AYASpace software.

For connectivity, the Ayaneo Pocket Micro 2 includes a full-featured USB 3.1 Type-C port, a MicroSD card slot for expandable storage, and the return of the popular 3.5mm headphone jack. It also supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1 for fast wireless connections and accessory support.
