Arctic announces MX-7 thermal paste with improved cooling performance
Arctic has announced Arctic MX-7, its latest thermal interface material made to deliver better and more stable cooling. The new thermal paste is designed for regular desktop CPUs as well as more demanding uses like direct die cooling on GPUs, laptops, and game consoles.
MX-7 comes with a new formula that lowers thermal resistance. This helps heat move faster from the processor to the cooler. As a result, users can see slightly better temperatures and more stable performance during long gaming or heavy work sessions.

One important point is safety. MX-7 is not electrically conductive and not capacitive. This means there is no risk of short circuits or damage if the paste touches nearby components. This makes it suitable even for users who apply thermal paste themselves.

The paste has a thick texture and is not meant to be spread with a spatula. Instead, the correct and even layer forms naturally when the cooler is mounted with pressure. This method helps avoid air gaps and improves contact between the processor and the cooler.

Arctic has also improved durability. The new composition has high cohesiveness, which helps reduce the pump out effect. This is a common issue where thermal paste slowly moves away from the centre after many heating and cooling cycles. With MX-7, performance stays more consistent over time.
Another small but useful upgrade is the new syringe design. It makes application cleaner and easier. Each pack also includes an authenticity check, allowing users to verify that their product is genuine.
MX-7 is now available through the Arctic official webshop, as well as Amazon, eBay, and selected retail partners.
Arctic MX-7 thermal paste pricing details
The Arctic MX-7 2-gram version starts at €6.49, with a listed MSRP of €14.49. The 4-gram version starts at €6.99, while the 4-gram pack with six MX-Cleaner wipes starts at €8.29. The 8-gram version is priced from €8.49, with an MSRP of €20.99.
With better cooling, safer use, and long-term stability, Arctic MX-7 looks like a solid upgrade for users who want reliable thermal performance across many devices.
