Remedy Entertainment has revealed the next chapter in the Control world, and it is shaping up to be one of their most exciting games yet. The new title brings back the strange, mysterious world the studio is known for, but this time, everything feels larger, bolder, and full of new surprises.
The story of Control Resonant follows Dylan Faden, who has spent years locked away by the Federal Bureau of Control. Now, the same people who once kept him confined are sending him straight into a massive supernatural crisis unfolding in Manhattan. A strange cosmic force is twisting the city, bending gravity, breaking natural laws, and turning familiar streets into dangerous, shifting environments. Dylan must use his growing powers not only to survive this threat but also to understand his place in this paranatural conflict.
As players explore Manhattan, they will enter new areas that change shape as the cosmic invasion spreads. The world will feel alive, unpredictable, and sometimes frightening. Dylan also steps into a strange metaphysical space connected to his own mind, where players will discover more about his past, his fears, and his hidden strengths. Along the journey, Dylan hopes to reconnect with his sister, Jesse Faden, the Director of the FBC, adding emotional weight to the adventure.
Creative Director Mikael Kasurinen explains that the team wanted to make sure new players can enjoy the game even if they never played the first Control. He shared that Control Resonant offers a bigger world, deeper combat, and more meaningful choices. The gameplay will allow players to shape Dylan’s abilities through a detailed progression system, making each playstyle feel unique. Dylan’s main weapon, a strange shapeshifting melee tool called the Aberrant, will let players fight enemies in bold new ways while using the environment and elemental abilities to survive.
The game is being published by Remedy Entertainment, with Annapurna Pictures co-financing and co-producing. This partnership shows the ambition behind the project, aiming to deliver a powerful and memorable experience that blends story, action, and mystery.
