Drop launches all-white CSTM80 mechanical keyboard with a new take on customisation

Drop has announced a new variant of its custom mechanical keyboard, the CSTM80, now available in an “All-White” edition. This model brings a striking clean aesthetic for those who want their setup to look as sleek as it feels. But there’s more to it than just a white colour scheme—it’s also packed with customisation options and enthusiast-grade features.

The All-White CSTM80 sports a white polycarbonate top case, bottom case, and a matching set of white ABS keycaps. The keycaps follow a Cherry profile with shine-through, front-facing legends, ideal for users who love RGB effects without compromising on a neat look. Underneath the surface, Drop has built in a system that focuses on both comfort and modularity.

What makes this keyboard stand out is its magnetic decorative top case. Unlike standard keyboards where the top shell is a fixed element, the CSTM80’s magnetic top plate can be easily swapped out to match different styles, keycap sets, or desk setups. More colours are planned for future releases, and Drop hints at community-inspired styles as well.

This keyboard is built around a tenkeyless (TKL) layout, featuring 88 keys. Inside, it uses a gasket-mounted structure with removable gaskets, along with several layers of foam including PORON case foam, plate foam, IXPE switch foam, and a silicone bottom patch. These design choices aim to deliver a softer, quieter typing experience with reduced case ping and improved acoustics.

Users can choose between Gateron Brown Pro 3.0 tactile switches or Gateron Milky Yellow KS3 linear switches, both well-regarded in the mechanical keyboard community. Thanks to hot-swappable sockets with 5-pin switch support, users can easily replace the switches without soldering.

The CSTM80 supports per-key RGB lighting with south-facing LEDs, which helps avoid interference with Cherry-profile keycaps. It also includes QMK, VIA, and Vial support, giving power users full control over key mapping and macros.

Drop CSTM80 keyboard accessories and warranty

Drop is bundling the CSTM80 with several handy accessories including a USB-A to USB-C cable, switch puller, keycap puller, Mac keycaps, and a 2-year warranty. With dimensions of 14.7 x 5.8 x 1.3 inches and a 6° typing angle, the CSTM80 aims to blend performance, aesthetics, and customisability into one stylish package. For keyboard fans who want something unique but clean-looking right out of the box—and the ability to tweak things later—the All-White CSTM80 looks like a compelling new option.
