Microsoft has officially launched its new backward compatibility program, allowing players to enjoy Microsoft Original Xbox Games on PC for the first time through the Xbox app. The feature starts with four classic titles and is available for Windows 11 users with an Xbox Game Pass subscription or a supported digital game license.

The first wave includes BLiNX: The Time Sweeper, Conker: Live and Reloaded, Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge, and Fuzion Frenzy. Every Xbox Game Pass member can download and play these games. Players who already own the digital console versions can also access them on PC through Xbox Play Anywhere.

The launch of Microsoft Original Xbox Games on PC also supports handheld gaming devices such as the ROG Xbox Ally and Xbox Ally X. Microsoft says the hardware requirements are low, making it possible for many existing PCs to run these classic games without needing expensive upgrades.

To improve the experience, Microsoft has added several modern features while keeping the original gameplay intact. Players can enjoy up to four times higher resolution, better anti-aliasing, anisotropic filtering, V-Sync support, and both fullscreen and windowed display modes. The games also include adjustable language and audio settings for a better overall experience.
