ASUS ROG Azoth 96 HE keyboard brings powerful upgrades for gamers
The new ASUS ROG Azoth 96 HE has officially arrived in Europe, and it comes with a long list of upgrades that make it one of the most advanced gaming keyboards today. It is priced at €399 and is now available in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. More stores will also stock it from January.
ASUS has given this model a full refresh by adding new magnetic switches, a bright touchscreen, and faster wireless performance. The keyboard also uses a new 96% layout, which keeps the number pad while saving space on the desk. This makes it a good choice for gamers who want both comfort and performance in one device.
The biggest upgrade is the new ROG HFX V2 magnetic switches. These switches allow the user to set the actuation point from 0.1 mm to 3.5 mm, and they can be fine-tuned in tiny 0.01 mm steps. This means every key press can feel exactly how the user wants it. The keyboard also uses an ROG Hall sensor for extremely accurate keystroke reading. ASUS says each key is carefully checked during production, and all the data is used to give the user better control and faster response.
The Azoth 96 HE supports tri-mode connectivity, letting users connect up to five devices through ROG SpeedNova 8K wireless mode, Bluetooth, or wired USB. It supports a true 8000 Hz polling rate in both wireless and wired modes, which helps reduce input delay without needing any extra device.
A 1.47-inch full-colour touchscreen sits on the top right of the Azoth 96 HE keyboard, similar to the one found in the flagship Azoth Extreme. It shows system information and keyboard settings, and users can use the three-way knob to switch between menus or adjust features like actuation or trigger sensitivity.
Typing feel has also been improved with a gasket-mount structure and six layers of sound-dampening material. These include four PORON layers, an IXPE pad, and a silicone pad, all working together to reduce noise and make key presses feel softer. Users can also tune the gasket feel by changing the dampening layers underneath.
The design stays true to the ROG style, with a metal top cover that gives it a premium look. ASUS also includes unique translucent keycaps with ROG markings for people who want a more eye-catching setup on their desk.
