Introduction
We are taking a look at the Sabrent 100 Watt 8-Port USB Rapid Charger. This charger allows the charging of 8x devices simultaneously and includes 2x PD ports for up to 20C/15A [shared 50W] charging capability using USB Type-A and Type-C ports. This is a standalone charger and does not need to be connected to the PC. The charger features the Kensington lock as well. The features include:
- Stand-alone charger. It does not require a computer to work, only electricity.
- 6 USB Ports providing up to 15W per port, with a shared total maximum of 50W.
- 2 PD ports providing up to 28W per port, with a shared total of maximum of 50W.

Closer Look
The charger is shipped inside the Sabrent-themed packing box.
The charger is placed on the top whereas the rest of the provisions are under the cover making quite an effective overall presentation of the product.
The charger has a black color plastic housing with Sabrent branding on the top. The dimension of the unit is 5.82 x 4.70 x 3.31 inches. The model no is AX-ADPA. The top two ports are PD 3.0 ports. There are blue color LED indicators on the exterior side of the ports. The PD 3.0 ports can provide:
- 5V/3A
- 9V/3A
- 12V/2.5A
- 15V/2A
- 20V 1.5A (shared maximum 50W).
Each PD port will be handy for the device requiring 28W quick charging. The remaining 6x ports are USB Type-A ports. Each port has its own LED indicator in blue color.
There is a 2-pin port on the side of the housing which is where the power supply cable is connected to. The Kensington lock is right below the model info of the charger. The power supply is rated at 100~240V making it suitable for International use.
The other side of the housing has a slotted design.
The base of the charger has two self-adhesive strips. There is a provision where the wall mounting bracket can be flushed mounted on the charger. This will allow the charger to be installed on the wall or any other surface for ease of access and use.

Sabrent has provided a user guide with the box. The user can extend the one-year warranty to three years by registering the product with Sabrent.

Testing
The charger was tested by charging the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge smartphone connected to the charger and then with its own charger. The Ampere app was used to record the current and voltage being supplied to the mobile phone.

The mobile phone was connected to the Sabrent charger and the reading was taken after 20 minutes of charging. The maximum current reading was 810mA at 3.932V. The mobile phone displayed Cable Charging on the status and it was not fast charging when connected to the Sabrent charger.
The mobile phone was then connected to its own charger which is capable of fast charging. The maximum current reading was 1010mA at 3.962V.
Conclusion
The Sabrent 100W 8-port USB Rapid charger is a handy product that allows the convenience of charging up to 8x devices (iPad, iPhone, Tablet PC, Small Laptops, Smartphone, a Wireless Hotspot, etc) simultaneously to a single wall outlet. The charger has a black color housing having a dimension of 5.82 x 4.70 x 3.31 inches.
The charger has 6x USB Type-A ports and 2x PD 3.0 ports using a USB Type-C interface. Each port has its dedicated blue color LED for a status update. There is no dedicated power on/off button per port which makes sense as it is basically a charger and the user would connect the device only when charging is needed.
The PD 3.0 ports can provide: 5V/3A, 9V/3A, 12V/2.5A, 15V/2A, 20V 1.5A. Each port can provide up to 28W which is handy for quick charging of the devices (shared maximum 50W). Sabrent has provided a wall mounting bracket that allows the user to install the charger on a wall at a convenient location for ease of access and use.
