I want to thank YUNZII for giving me the chance to test the IF99. This is my first time experiencing their products, and I was genuinely inspired by the quality and design of this beautiful keyboard. After using it for over two weeks, I can confidently say that the YUNZII IF99 lives up to its promises and offers a truly exceptional experience.
Unboxing
The YUNZII IF99 comes in a shell-style box. The colour is dusty blue with three faded patterns. Silver snowflakes are printed on the corners. The theme of the box matches the keyboard’s icy style. On the front, you’ll see big fonts for “IF99” and “YUNZII” branding. The back is simple, with product details in different languages.
Once you remove the outer shell, there’s a black inner box. It’s made from good quality cardboard with YUNZII branding on the front. When you open the box, a function card and manual booklet welcome you.
Inside, you get many accessories. These include the manual, function card, four extra keycaps, two extra Cocoa Cream switches, and a non-braided Type-C cable. You also get a keycap puller and switch puller. There are two cute metal badges based on YUNZII’s C68 keyboard, one pink and one green. These are attached to a card with the official website and marketing email. All accessories are placed in a separate small box, which feels premium.
The keyboard is packed safely in a plastic cover and dust bag. This keeps it safe from dust and scratches. Overall, the unboxing experience is excellent. YUNZII has paid great attention to detail, both in looks and in quality.

A closer look
The YUNZII IF99 is a full-size, 95-key mechanical keyboard that stands out with its beautiful design and solid build. The build quality is impressive. It feels sturdy in hand and doesn’t flex during use. Weighing about 1.23 kg, it’s not too heavy, so you can move it easily, but it still feels strong and premium on the desk.
The keyboard comes in two color options white and black so you can pick the one that suits your setup. It follows a cool, icy theme that instantly catches the eye. The keyboard has a smooth and clean look with a stylish LCD screen on the top right, which adds a modern touch.
The frame is made from high-quality plastic with smooth edges, and the magnetic aluminium badge on the top-right corner adds a classy and useful detail it hides the 2.4GHz receiver when not in use. There’s also a slim RGB LED bar labelled “LOG” placed between the Backspace and Num Lock keys. It adds a unique look and can be customised easily. You can change the LED effects using Fn + Num Lock, adjust brightness with Fn + “=” or Fn + “-“, and check the battery level with Fn + Right Ctrl. This feature not only looks cool but also adds extra functionality.
Flipping the keyboard over, the first thing that catches the eye is the ice-themed design at the bottom. It features a blue-ish tone with snowflake patterns that match the overall aesthetic. There’s a stylish metal bar held by two screws, engraved with the words “One Click to Infinity.”
Just beside it, you’ll find the Type-C port for wired connectivity. Each corner has round rubber feet that keep the keyboard firmly in place on your desk, preventing it from slipping. There’s also a mode switch here, allowing you to toggle between Bluetooth, 2.4G wireless, and wired modes easily.
From the layout to the colours, every part of the IF99 feels well-thought-out and attractive. Whether you’re using it for work or gaming, it looks great on any desk.
Screen
The YUNZII IF99 comes with a small LCD screen placed on the top right side. It gives a modern and stylish touch to the keyboard. The screen shows useful things like time, battery level, connection mode, and more. It shows useful info like date, time, battery level, and connection mode. It also shows if Caps Lock or Num Lock is on.
To customise your LCD screen on the YUNZII IF99, follow these steps:
- Go to the YUNZII Official Website and click on the software page.
- Locate the IF99 software section and either click on the online LCD custom website or download the offline software.
- Install the software on your computer, ensuring that the keyboard is properly connected and functioning. Once set up, use the custom website or software to personalise the LCD screen display.
You can also customise it with your own pictures, GIFs, or text using software. It makes the keyboard feel more personal and fun. The display is clear and bright, and it fits well with the overall design.
You can change the LCD screen display using shortcuts. Press Fn + 8 to show the main homepage. Use Fn + 9 to see the picture page, and Fn + 0 to play a GIF. You can add your own images or animations to make it look unique.
Just note: you can’t customise the LCD screen using VIA software. To do that, you’ll need to visit the official YUNZII custom website or use their offline software.
Keycaps
The YUNZII IF99 comes with beautifully designed cherry profile keycaps in a three-colour mix—light blue, white, and grey. All key legends are in black and printed in large size, making them easy to read while typing. The keycaps are made of high-quality double-shot PBT, which means they don’t shine through but still offer a clean and sharp look. The top surface of the keycaps is smooth, allowing your fingers to glide comfortably from one key to another, adding to the overall pleasant typing experience.
Switches
The YUNZII IF99 we are testing comes with Cocoa Cream V2 linear switches. These switches feel smooth and soft while typing. They don’t make much noise, which is great for quiet environments. The keystrokes feel light and consistent, making them good for long typing or gaming sessions. These are linear-type switches with 5 pins and come pre-lubed from the factory. They need about 50 ±10gf of force to press, with a total travel of 3.30mm and working travel of 2.00 ±0.5mm.
The keyboard uses plate-mounted stabilisers, and they are also pre-lubed. They feel tight and do not rattle, especially on bigger keys like the spacebar, shift, and enter. This gives a smooth and stable typing experience.
RGB Lighting
The YUNZII IF99 has bright south-facing RGB lights. The lights come from the bottom of the keys and look great in the dark. You can change the lighting effects using the VIA software or by using keyboard shortcuts. The lighting is clean and colourful, adding style to your desk setup.
There is also a special LOG LED bar between the Backspace and Num Lock keys. It lights up in different styles. You can change its brightness and effects too.
Backlight & LOG LED Controls:
- Fn + Backspace = Turn backlight ON/OFF
- Fn + | = Change backlight effect
- Fn + Enter = Change backlight colour
- Fn + ↑ / ↓ = Increase/Decrease brightness
- Fn + → / ← = Increase/Decrease blinking speed
- Fn + Num Lock = Change LOG LED effect
- Fn + – = LOG LED brightness down
- Fn + = = LOG LED brightness up
These shortcuts help you quickly adjust the lighting to your liking. When the brightness or speed reaches its lowest or highest level, the Caps Lock and Num Lock indicators will flash quickly to let you know.
Battery
The keyboard has a large 8000mAh battery. Even with the RGB backlight, LOG LED bar, and LCD screen on, I got very good battery backup. I didn’t worry about charging at all. It also supports fast charging, so charging the big battery didn’t take much time.
You can also check the battery level by pressing Fn + Right Ctrl. When you do this, the backlight and LOG LED will turn off, and the number keys from 1 to 0 will light up to show the battery percentage. Once you release the keys, the keyboard goes back to its normal lighting mode.
There’s a power saving feature too. In wireless mode, if you don’t use the keyboard for 4 minutes, it goes into sleep mode—the lights turn off, but the connection stays active. If you press any key, it wakes up and types normally. If there’s no use for 30 minutes, it enters deep sleep mode and disconnects. Press any key to wake it up again, and it reconnects on its own.
Connectivity
The YUNZII IF99 offers three ways to connect: Bluetooth 5.0, 2.4GHz wireless, and wired Type-C. You can switch between modes using the slider on the bottom of the keyboard. It also connects with up to 5 devices like tablets, PCs, phones, laptops, and even gaming consoles like PS and Xbox.
Bluetooth Mode (Fn + 1/2/3):
- Slide the mode switch to BT.
- Press Fn + 1, 2, or 3 to choose a Bluetooth channel. The LOG LED will flash slowly in Blue, Yellow, or Red.
- Long press Fn + 1/2/3 to enter pairing mode. The LED will flash quickly.
- On your device, select YUNZII IF99 BT1/BT2/BT3. Once connected, the LED will stop flashing and go back to normal.
If pairing fails, the LED flashes slowly. If there is no activity for 20 seconds, the lights will turn off. If pairing mode is left idle for 60 seconds, the lights also turn off. Press a key to wake it up.
2.4G Mode (Fn + 4):
- Slide the mode switch to 2.4G.
- Long press Fn + 4 to enter pairing mode. The LOG LED will flash green.
- Plug the USB dongle into your device. The LED will stay on and return to normal lighting once connected.
If pairing fails or there’s no activity, the same sleep rules apply.
Wired Mode:
- Slide the mode switch to Wired.
- Connect the keyboard with the USB Type-C cable.
- Once connected, the backlight will turn on.
If the connection doesn’t work, try a different cable, port, or device.
Switching between devices and modes is quick, and all three modes work smoothly.
VIA Software Customisation
The YUNZII IF99 supports VIA software, which makes it very easy to customise the keyboard. You can remap keys, set macros, and change lighting effects using the VIA interface. It works in real-time, so changes happen instantly without restarting the keyboard.
VIA is beginner-friendly and needs no coding. You just have to connect your keyboard and load the layout once. After that, you can drag and drop key functions, change layers, and even control the RGB lighting. It supports multiple layers, so you can make special layouts for gaming, typing, or shortcuts.
Overall, VIA gives full control over how your keyboard works, and it’s a great feature for those who like personalising their setup.
User experience
Using the YUNZII IF99 has been a great experience. Typing and gaming on it feels smooth and comfortable. The Cocoa Cream V2 switches give a soft and creamy feel with every press. This keyboard has a gasket-mounted design with layers of sound-absorbing material, so it feels quiet and stable while typing. It also has a number pad, which is very useful for daily work.
Thanks to its hot-swappable feature, I was able to test different switches easily. It supports both 3-pin and 5-pin switches, so you can fully customise the typing feel and sound to your liking. The 8000mAh battery gave excellent backup, even with the LOG LED, screen, and backlight all on. I never had to worry about charging during use, and the fast charging support is a must-have feature—especially for large battery keyboards like this.
The LCD screen is also amazing. It shows clear text and graphics. The separate screen customisation software made it super easy to change images and GIFs—I tested both and the updates happened quickly.
