OWC announces Thunderbolt 5 Dock with blazing 80Gbps speed, triple 8K display support, and 140W charging for $329.99
Other World Computing (OWC) has introduced the Thunderbolt 5 Dock, an advanced connectivity solution made for creative professionals, power users, and anyone needing serious expansion. Priced at $329.99 and now available for pre-order, this dock combines speed, power, and compatibility to simplify even the most complex workflows.
The dock delivers up to 80Gbps of bidirectional bandwidth, with up to 120Gbps available for display connections. This makes it perfect for handling large video files, managing high-resolution multi-monitor setups, and transferring data at top speeds. It supports connecting up to three 8K displays or dual 6K monitors on Macs, offering a rich and ultra-clear visual experience.

Built with flexibility in mind, the Thunderbolt 5 Dock works with Thunderbolt 5, 4, 3, USB4, and USB-C devices, ensuring both future-ready and backward-compatible performance. It can deliver up to 140W of power, making it capable of charging power-hungry laptops while keeping connected devices running smoothly. Users can also daisy chain up to three groups of devices, keeping their setups neat and organised.
The dock includes 11 ports, featuring three Thunderbolt 5 (USB-C), two USB-A 10Gbps, one USB-A 5Gbps, a 2.5GbE Ethernet port (MDM ready), SD and microSD UHS-II card slots, and a 3.5mm audio combo jack. This layout gives users full control over their desktop devices, allowing easy connection of drives, monitors, audio gear, and more.

Tablet users are also in for a treat. The dock can turn a USB-C tablet like the iPad Pro into a complete desktop setup, ideal for content creators and mobile professionals who need serious connectivity with just one cable.
Each unit is fully Thunderbolt-certified and tested for quality. OWC also includes its Dock Ejector software, giving users an extra layer of protection when disconnecting devices. Apple SuperDrive support is also included, allowing playback and burning of CDs and DVDs, which is rare in today’s docking stations.
