Acer Nitro PG271K: Powerful portable 27-inch gaming monitor with 4K 72Hz or 1080p 144Hz flexibility
At Computex 2025, Acer revealed something that stands out in the sea of monitor announcements—the Acer Nitro PG271K, a 27-inch portable gaming monitor. While most portable displays are made for productivity and travel convenience, this one aims squarely at gamers and creative professionals, offering flexibility that we haven’t seen before in this segment.
Unlike typical compact monitors that settle for 1080p and 60 Hz, the Nitro PG271K can do both 4K and high refresh rates—but not simultaneously. When prioritising resolution, users can enjoy stunning 4K (3,840 x 2,160) visuals at 72 Hz, which is perfect for video editing, photo work, and content creation. If you’re in the mood for fast-paced gaming, you can switch to Full HD (1,920 x 1,080) to unlock a 144 Hz refresh rate, ideal for smoother gameplay.

The monitor uses a 27-inch Fast IPS panel with a rapid 1 ms response time, covers 95% of the DCI-P3 colour space, and boasts a high dynamic contrast ratio of 100,000,000:1. Its brightness peaks at 250 nits, which is decent for indoor use.
Connectivity is another area where Acer adds extra value. The PG271K includes two USB-C ports (one for power and one for display input), a full-size HDMI 2.0 port, a headphone jack, and even integrated stereo 2W speakers. A versatile stand allows both landscape and vertical orientations, and 100mm VESA compatibility means it can be mounted for fixed use at home.

While Acer hasn’t confirmed the weight—a key point for a “portable” device—it’s likely to be around 800 grams based on similar models. That makes it light enough to slip into a backpack yet big enough to double as a main screen for travel or limited-space setups.
Acer Nitro PG271K pricing
The Acer Nitro PG271K will be available in Spain soon at a recommended price of €499 (around $540). Given its size, 4K support, gaming refresh rates, and strong connectivity options, it’s a compelling option for gamers and creators who need high performance on the go.
