Forza Horizon 6 has been officially announced, and it is set to launch in 2026 for PC, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. Fans of the popular racing series have been waiting for this reveal, and it comes with one of the most requested settings in the history of the franchise—Japan.
The news was shared during the Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2025 broadcast, along with a short announcement trailer. This new entry is being developed by Playground Games together with Turn10, the studio behind the Forza Motorsport series.

Japan has always been a dream location for fans, and now it is finally becoming a reality. Art Director Don Arceta and Cultural Consultant Kyoko Yamashita explained that the country’s mix of traditional shrines and modern workshops makes it the perfect stage for Forza Horizon 6. They also said that today’s advanced technology makes it possible to create a true and detailed version of Japan in the game.

The new setting will not only bring beautiful roads and landscapes but also raise the seasonal system to a higher level. Seasons will dramatically change how the world looks and feels. From the colours of the environment to the sound of nature, players will immediately know which season they are driving in. These small details will make the racing world feel alive and unique.
