Borderlands 4 pre-orders begin now with exciting new content and powerful editions
Borderlands 4 is officially up for pre-order, and fans have every reason to be excited. 2K and Gearbox Software just announced that the next big title in the Borderlands series will launch worldwide on 12 September 2025. It will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. A version for the Nintendo Switch 2 is also coming later in 2025.
According to David Ismailer, President of 2K, the team at Gearbox has created a “premium AAA adventure” that takes Borderlands to the next level. He added that it keeps the fun and fast-paced gameplay that players love, while also offering something fresh. Randy Pitchford, founder and President of Gearbox, called it the “best entry point” for new players, as well as a special treat for long-time fans.

In Borderlands 4, players can choose from four new Vault Hunters, each with their own powerful skills. These heroes will explore the huge world of Kairos, packed with new locations, enemies, and stories. With billions of weapons and exciting new movement mechanics, players will battle the villainous Timekeeper and his army known as the Order.
After launch, Gearbox plans to release free and paid post-launch content to keep the adventure going. Paid content may include two more Vault Hunters, new missions, fresh locations, and challenging bosses. More details will be shared later.
