Twopan Unveils “World’s Smallest” Nano SSD For Smartphones With Fingerprint Sensors
Our smartphone’s storage isn’t always enough to handle our daily load of photos, videos, and documents downloaded from the internet. That’s why it’s sometimes necessary to opt for either a cloud storage service or a physical one, which is usually an external hard drive connected via a USB port. In this case, Twopan has just launched a new storage device called the Nano SSD, which is being marketed as being perfect for smartphones.
Twopan Nano SSD Crowdfunding Campaign
Twopan Nano SSD is currently being funded through a crowdfunding campaign. However, users should note that the maximum data transfer speed on many smartphones may be limited, as USB-C ports typically only support the slower USB 2.0 standard.
Of course, the Twopan Nano SSD can also be used on other devices with USB-C ports, such as game consoles, tablets, PCs, and laptops. The maximum data transfer speed is specified as 450 MB/s, enabling the fast transfer of large amounts of data and supporting USB 3.1 Gen 1. This model is only available in a 512GB capacity.
Measuring 20 x 13 x 5 mm, the Twopan Nano SSD is extremely compact and weighs just 5 grams. According to the manufacturer, the product is made of aluminum and plastic, meets IP65 standards, and can withstand impacts from heights of up to 10 meters. The device supports encryption and can be unlocked by fingerprint, which is particularly useful for a storage device that is easily lost, such as a compact USB.
Not only in smartphones, but also in PCs, game consoles, and ultimately, any device with a USB port prepared to connect to external storage. Plus, it’s Plug & Play, so you don’t have to install anything to use it on the device. This new SSD from Twopan has arrived on Indiegogo, where its price is 68 euros/ 78U SD, plus shipping costs. It will be shipped worldwide starting next July.
