Gigabyte introduces X870 and B850 Aorus Stealth Ice motherboards for cleaner white PC builds

GIGABYTE, a global leader in computing hardware, has announced the launch of its new X870 AORUS Stealth Ice and B850 AORUS Stealth Ice motherboards, pushing the boundaries of reverse-connector motherboard design. These all-white boards are the latest expansion of Project STEALTH, which first launched in 2022 and was the first in the industry to promote cable-free aesthetics with reverse-connector layouts.

Now reimagined to meet rising demand for white-themed builds and easier cable management, the STEALTH ICE Series blends sleek design with enthusiast-grade performance. This new release also comes alongside broad case compatibility, with GIGABYTE partnering with over 10 case manufacturers—including Corsair, Cooler Master, Fractal Design, and Phanteks—to support more than 25 case models tailored for reverse-connector setups.

AORUS Stealth Ice X870

The X870 AORUS Stealth Ice supports AMD’s latest AM5 processors, including the powerful Ryzen 9 9950X3D. It features a robust 18+2+2 VRM power design with 80A Smart Power Stages, delivering high efficiency and strong thermal performance for demanding workloads or heavy gaming. This setup is made for users who want to get the most out of AMD’s high-end CPUs without performance throttling.

Adding to the enthusiast features is the X3D Turbo Mode, which delivers an instant performance boost of up to 18% in gaming scenarios. This function smartly optimises Ryzen X3D processors with a single click, making performance tuning simple and accessible.

For memory, the boards bring in AI-powered D5 Bionic Corsa—an overclocking tool that pushes DDR5 memory speeds up to 8200 MT/s with a single click. Rather than relying on trial and error, this feature automatically detects and applies stable high-speed configurations, making it easier for users to maximise memory performance.

A standout new feature on the X870 and B850 AORUS Stealth Ice is M.2 EZ-Flex, which debuts a flexible baseplate located at the lower-left M.2 slot. This innovation adjusts to different SSD types (single- or double-sided), maintaining proper contact with the heatsink and reducing temperatures by up to 12°C. This improvement not only helps keep SSDs cooler under load but also simplifies installation and increases compatibility.

In keeping with the STEALTH approach to easier builds, the new motherboards are packed with user-friendly features such as PCIe EZ-Latch Plus, M.2 EZ-Latch Click/Plus, Wi-Fi EZ-Plug, and the EZ-Debug Zone. These tools make it easier to install or replace hardware components without using extra tools, making it simpler even for first-time builders.

The new DriverBIOS feature allows Wi-Fi support straight from BIOS, eliminating the need for manual driver installation. The updated 64MB BIOS capacity ensures room for future enhancements and firmware improvements.

On the connectivity side, both motherboards offer full-bandwidth PCIe Gen 5 x16 slots for upcoming graphics cards and Gen 5 M.2 SSD support, ensuring they’re ready for the next wave of high-speed components. Other connectivity highlights include Wi-Fi 7, 5G LAN, and an upgraded directional antenna system for better wireless coverage and performance.
