Lords of the Fallen 2 brings an exciting first gameplay reveal and raises expectations
CI Games has finally lifted the curtain on Lords of the Fallen 2, and the first gameplay reveal shows a sequel that is more intense, more violent, and far more ambitious than the last game. The trailer debuted during The Game Awards and immediately caught attention with its dark mood, heavy action, and improved visuals.
The gameplay footage highlights a grim world divided between two realms, filled with towering enemies and deadly encounters. A powerful cover of “It’s a Sin” by the band Ghost plays throughout the trailer, helping set a serious and dramatic tone. Built on Unreal Engine 5, Lords of the Fallen 2 is scheduled to launch in 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox, and PC through the Epic Games Store. The game is already available to wishlist.

Set a thousand years after the defeat of the dark god Adyr, the story focuses on a fragile human kingdom under siege once again. This time, the threat comes from the realm of the dead known as Umbral and its terrifying ruler. Players take on the role of the Lampbearer, a warrior caught between life and death, standing against ancient gods and unstoppable forces.
Combat has received major upgrades. The sequel introduces a new dismemberment system, allowing players to tear enemies apart during battle. New execution moves add weight to every fight, making each victory feel final. The overall combat flow looks quicker and smoother, while still staying punishing and demanding.
Enemy variety is also much larger this time. The gameplay reveal showcases several massive bosses, including the Heartroot Warden, a heavily armoured giant wielding a chained greatsword, Koydreth, a winged enemy attacking through mirrored runes, and Lingao the Souring Storm, a colossal dragon that controls wind and lightning. These battles appear designed to push players to their limits, whether playing alone or with others.

Game Director James Lowe shared that the team is building the sequel with player feedback in mind. He explained that the goal is to deliver faster combat, more enemies, and larger boss encounters, while staying true to what fans enjoy most. He also made it clear that this reveal is only the first step, with more information coming later.
Alongside the sequel reveal, CI Games has released the final major update for Lords of the Fallen 2023. Version 2.5 focuses heavily on improving combat and enemy behaviour across both Legacy Mode and the new Veteran Mode.
Boss fights have been reworked to feel more aggressive and challenging. Pieta now uses improved attack chains, while the Congregator of Flesh has tighter pacing and reduced staggering. Mini bosses attack more often and position themselves better, and regular enemies are more dangerous thanks to a new global cooldown system that increases pressure during fights.

Veteran Mode is designed for experienced players looking for the hardest challenge. Bosses in this mode have faster phase changes, new moves, and much higher aggression. Completing Veteran Mode rewards players with the Veteran of the Veil breastplate, which also offers a special item drop bonus.
Several boss weapons have also been improved with new attack animations, giving them more personality in combat. Version 2.5 represents the result of more than 70 updates, shaped by feedback from over six million players worldwide.
CEO Marek Tyminski stated that the team has stayed closely connected with the community since launch. He said this update reflects what players have been asking for and represents the final and most complete version of the original game, delivered free to all owners.
For players who have not yet tried Lords of the Fallen 2023, the game is currently available at a 50 percent discount, priced at $14.99 across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S for a limited time.
