Meet Makera at CES 2026 – Affordable Smart Desktop CNC
The Makera Z1 Desktop CNC has already been launched on Kickstarter and raised over $10 million in 45 days. Now, with CES around the corner, Makera will be launching its Z1 Desktop CNC to an even wider network of users.
Having such a powerful machine that can fit on top of most any table or desk will offer a world of possibilities. More and more people are starting their own businesses, and the Z1 Desktop CNC is sure to help them make more things in-house. More than that, anyone from crafters to PC modders will be able to use this, as the possibilities of products you can make with it are rather abundant.
The Z1 is chock-full of many performance and beginner-friendly features, allowing almost anyone to make the most of it. While it may not be the cheapest out there, coming in at around $1,000 for the base model, it is said to be a strong and sturdy machine. It offers 0.02mm precision with industrial-grade accuracy, a quick tool changer for ease of use, a built-in camera, an AeroDust collection system, and even has auto probing and leveling features.
Of the the feeatures I am looking most forward to checking out is the Makerables platform. This platform will allow users to upload their CNC designs, check out other users’ designs, and load them into their machine, all with just one click. This will likely be the easiest way to get your Z1 CNC up and running and start getting used to it. It also offers an AI-powered workflow that will allow you to turn any idea/image you may have into a detailed 3D model. These two features combined are going to allow almost anyone to make use of the Z1 with little to no previous knowledge of CNC Machines.
The Z1 is compatible with a wide range of materials, even Titanium! Yes, this is going to give you the power to make almost anything you can think of. Check the videos below to see the Z1 in action across a wide range of materials, including Titanium.
The accuracy of the Z1 is astounding, and it comes with loads of accessories, milling bits, and tools in the box to get you started. If you are at CES 2026, make sure to stop by the Makera booth and check it out firsthand! If you want more info now, you can head over to the official Makera US site to find out more info on the Z1 and the other products on offer.
