Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV shines bright with epic return at Gamescom
Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV has finally been announced, bringing back one of the most loved real-time strategy series. The reveal took place during Gamescom Opening Night Live, where fans got their first look at the game through a powerful cinematic trailer. The trailer follows Captain Cyrus of the Blood Ravens 10th Company as he narrates a life filled with duty, war, and sacrifice, while also giving a first look at the game’s four main factions – Space Marines, Orks, Adeptus Mechanicus, and the Necrons. Familiar faces like Jonah and Gorgutz are also making a comeback.
Dawn of War IV Return to Kronus with classic RTS gameplay
The Dawn of War IV game is set on Kronus, about 200 years after the events of Dawn of War: Dark Crusade. It promises a strong return to the classic style with full base-building, large-scale battles, and deep strategy. The developers have also added modern upgrades to make the game more exciting and fresh.

Players can look forward to four full campaigns, one for each faction, covering over 70 missions in total. Each story comes with its own cinematic CGI scenes, with about 40 minutes of cutscenes in the full game. The story is co-written by John French, a well-known author from the Black Library, ensuring fans get the dark and rich storytelling the series is known for.

The game will not only include solo campaigns but also other modes like Skirmish, co-op, multiplayer, and the popular Last Stand mode. There will be more than 110 units and buildings, over 10 commanders to choose from, and tools like the in-game editor and Painter tool to let players create and customise their armies.
Dawn of War IV is being called the biggest launch in the series yet. With its mix of classic RTS gameplay and new features like the Combat Director, which adds more dynamic melee combat, it aims to give fans both nostalgia and fresh action.

Fans of the Warhammer universe and strategy games now have plenty to look forward to, as Dawn of War IV looks ready to bring epic battles back to the spotlight in a massive way.
