Qualcomm unveils powerful Snapdragon X2 Plus with faster speed and smarter AI
Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. has officially launched the Snapdragon X2 Plus platform at CES 2026, adding a strong new option to its Snapdragon X Series. The new platform is built for modern professionals, creators, and everyday users who want fast performance, long battery life, and smart AI features in a thin and light laptop.
With Snapdragon X2 Plus, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. is expanding the reach of Windows 11 Copilot+ PCs. Select devices powered by this platform will be available from leading PC makers in the first half of 2026.

The company says today’s users move fast and expect their PCs to keep up. From work tasks and creative projects to video calls and daily browsing, users want smooth speed without worrying about charging again and again. Snapdragon X2 Plus is designed to meet these needs with ease.
At the heart of the platform is the 3rd Gen Qualcomm Oryon CPU. It offers up to 35 percent faster single-core performance compared to the previous generation, while using 43 percent less power. This means apps open quicker, multitasking feels smoother, and battery life lasts much longer during daily use.

AI is another major focus of Snapdragon X2 Plus. The built-in Qualcomm Hexagon NPU delivers up to 80 TOPS of AI performance. This helps power next-generation AI features, smarter tools, and smoother multitasking on Windows 11 Copilot+ PCs, all while running quietly in the background.
Connectivity is also a strong point. The platform supports Wi Fi 7, optional 5G, and advanced security features through Snapdragon Guardian. These features allow users to stay connected, work safely on the move, and enjoy a reliable experience wherever they are.
Speaking about the launch, Kedar Kondap, senior vice president and general manager of computing and gaming at Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., said the new platform is built to help users do more and create more, while pushing the limits of AI and all-day performance. He added that Snapdragon X2 Plus makes each PC experience faster, smarter, and more personal.

With this launch, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. is clearly aiming to raise the standard for Windows on Arm laptops in 2026, offering a powerful mix of speed, efficiency, and intelligent features in one platform.
