Finalmouse Starlight X brings exciting new features in a 38g gaming mouse

Finalmouse has officially introduced the Finalmouse Starlight X, a new wireless gaming mouse designed for competitive players. After weeks of teasers, the company has finally revealed the mouse, which combines an ultra-lightweight body with new switch technology and advanced wireless features.

The Finalmouse Starlight X is the company’s first completely new mouse shape in 11 years. It has been developed mainly for FPS gamers who want fast movement, quick reactions, and comfortable handling during long gaming sessions.

One of the biggest talking points of the Finalmouse Starlight X is its weight. The mouse weighs only 38 grams thanks to its carbon fibre composite shell. Unlike many lightweight gaming mice that use large honeycomb cut-outs, the Finalmouse Starlight X keeps a cleaner design with only a few small openings on the shell.

According to Finalmouse, the new shape offers a fuller rear hump for improved hand support. The design is also intended to reduce pressure points and provide a more comfortable grip. The mouse measures 124.8 x 58.9 x 39.5 mm, making it suitable for a wide range of grip styles.

Another major feature of the Finalmouse Starlight X is its new TMR Dual-State switch system. This technology combines TMR sensing with mechanical click feedback. The company says this allows features such as rapid trigger support, adjustable actuation points, and improved responsiveness while adding only 0.24 grams of extra weight.

Finalmouse claims the switch system can reduce latency by up to 35 milliseconds compared to similar gaming mice. However, users will not be able to adjust the click feel because the tactile feedback remains fixed.

The Finalmouse Starlight X also features a custom Finalmouse F1 sensor developed together with PixArt. While the company has not shared detailed sensor specifications, industry reports suggest it could be based on the popular PAW3955 platform. Finalmouse instead focuses on overall responsiveness, claiming an end-to-end latency of just 223 microseconds.

Handling the wireless performance is a Nordic nRF54LM20 microcontroller. Finalmouse has also introduced its new PerfectPolling technology, which is designed to improve communication between the mouse and PC. The company says this system goes beyond traditional polling rate measurements by using advanced wireless scheduling and high-speed USB communication.

Finalmouse Starlight X mouse pricing and availability

At launch, the Finalmouse Starlight X will be available in the Nightfall colour option. Pre-orders are set to begin on May 30 through the Finalmouse online store. The mouse carries a starting price of $179, while users with early access codes will be able to order before the public release.

With its new shape, lightweight build, custom sensor, and innovative TMR switch technology, the Finalmouse Starlight X looks set to become one of the most talked-about gaming mice of the year among competitive players.
