Is the Epomaker HE65 Mag the Best Budget Keyboard in 2025?

Is the Epomaker HE65 Mag the Best Budget Keyboard in 2025?

The HE65 Mag has finally been released, and the specifications are exciting to say the least. With magnetic features on full display, including quad-point activation and Snap Tap, it’s an exciting choice for gamers. There’s also 8,000Hz wireless polling that clocks in over 2.4G, which is quite surprising given the fact that this is a wireless keyboard.

Customization with the Epomaker Driver

One exciting thing about this particular keyboard is that you can customize it with the Epomaker Driver. Although the switch choice is limited, you do have a lot of options when it comes to gaming. Tactile switches can be used when playing shooters like Bioshock from 2K, and allow you to get more feedback when initiating certain commands.

Clicky switches offer an audible click sound, which makes them suited to puzzle games, or even slots at Paddy Power Games. Slot games like Bullion Blitz often allow you to use your keyboard to place bets and set wagers over your mouse, so having a nice clicky sound adds to the experience and allows you to get more feedback from the games you play.

Linear switches can also be used, with these being more suited to typing and those who want a smooth and flowing experience when using their keyboard. When you break down the choices, for a budget keyboard, it’s certainly punching above its weight. It’s built very well, and the ABS plastic doesn’t appear cheap, with an aluminum alloy top plate that helps to give it an extra layer of sturdiness.

Gateron Magnetic White Switches

The keyboard comes with Gateron magnetic switches, which only need 30g of force to activate. If you intend to sit at your keyboard for a long period, then this is incredibly useful, as it means your hands won’t feel fatigued. You can also adjust the actuation, down to 0.1mm if you want. If you do want to adjust things like this, then you do need to download the Epomaker Driver for the keyboard. When you do, you can then make certain keys easier to press. Although this is a great feature, you do need to make sure that you don’t make it too low, or you run the risk of pressing other keys accidentally.

The customization for the switches is a great feature, though, and the quad-actuation is highly regarded. This is only usually seen in higher-end keyboards, but it allows you to assign up to four different actions to a single key. This is especially useful for those who play a lot of different games, and it also allows you to take full control over your gaming experience.  In regards to latency, this keyboard is way ahead of its time, with a 10x faster polling rate than other recent releases. With polling rates coming in at 8k, latency isn’t an issue.

With so many great features and a high response rate, the Epomaker HE65 is certainly a great choice for those who want a solid gaming keyboard on a budget in 2025.
