Samsung Launches The Premiere 8K Projector
Samsung Electronics has introduced The Premiere 8K, its latest premium projector, setting a new milestone in the projector market. The device has become the first to receive the 8K Association (8KA) certification, highlighting Samsung’s strong position in projection technology and creating a new standard for the industry.
According to Taeyoung Son, Executive Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, “The Premiere 8K receiving the industry’s first 8KA certification is a major milestone as it officially demonstrates the new potential of projector technology.” He also mentioned that Samsung is committed to growing the 8K ecosystem by integrating new advancements.
First 8K Projector to Meet Global Standards
The 8KA is a group of technology companies working together to make 8K technology more widely used and standardised. On 10 December, the organisation launched a new certification programme for 8K projectors, aimed at supporting the growth of the 8K ecosystem.
This certification considers various features important for an excellent viewing experience. These include 8K resolution (7680 x 4320), brightness, contrast, and colour accuracy, ensuring clear and detailed images even in bright or dark scenes. Other requirements include high dynamic range (HDR), the ability to improve lower-resolution content through 8K upscaling, and advanced sound features to match the high-quality picture. Samsung’s The Premiere 8K met all these criteria, becoming the first in the world to achieve this certification.
Transforming Home Entertainment
The Premiere 8K was first shown at CES 2024 and has been designed to provide a high-quality home cinema experience. It features wireless 8K connectivity, allowing users to stream content easily without complicated setups. The device uses ultra-short throw technology with specially designed mirrors to project high-resolution images from a short distance. This means users don’t need to install the projector on the ceiling or use additional equipment.
The projector’s brightness reaches 4,500 ISO Lumens, allowing it to produce clear and vibrant visuals even in well-lit rooms. The sound system, called Sound-on-Screen, uses built-in speakers and advanced software to create an immersive sound experience, making the picture and sound feel more connected.
A Step Forward in Display Innovation
With the 8KA certification, Samsung has shown its ability to innovate and lead in the display industry. The Premiere 8K combines advanced features with ease of use, providing an immersive experience for users. This new release strengthens Samsung’s position as a leader in high-end technology for home entertainment.
The Premiere 8K is expected to be a game-changer in the projector market, setting a high standard for the future of 8K projectors.
