Closer Look
THE TX15 from ACEMAGIV comes in a great color. It is a 15.6″ laptop and only features a small reflective text logo on the top case.
On the bottom is a fair decent-sized ventilated area to help ensure the laptop doesn’t overheat. There are also a few anti-slip rubber feet to make sure it doesn’t slide off your desk. You will also find a couple of stickers that provide more info on the TX15 and a way to contact ACEMAGIC should you need to.
The TX15 comes with a USB-C port that can be used to plug in peripherals and other devices. It also has an HDMI port for using external displays and 3x USB A ports for connecting almost anything you will need from a mouse and keyboard, to webcams and more.
The 15.6″ display is the ideal size for a laptop of this nature. It is big enough to be able to read all the text on screen without being so massive that the laptop is bulky.
The display is also quite bright, and the 1080P resolution makes it perfect for watching your favourite YouTubers or Streamers, no matter the lighting conditions surrounding you. You will be able to enjoy a good few hours of watch time as well on a single charge, or plug it in and watch for a long as you like.
The keypad and touchpad are both quite user-friendly. The keys are low profile, which see see on lots of laptops these days. They are easily pressed, but not so easily as to be pressed by accident. The key pressed also registers quite fast, so no matter the speed of your typing, you should not run into issues. The touch pad is quite big, which is also a nice little touch. It glides smoothly and seems very responsive, and the left/right click buttons in the bottom corners seem to work well. All in all, I did not notice any issues with either in the hours of testing I did.
The keyboard layout is standard US, but ACEMAGIC has included a silicone layover that can be put right across the top of the keyboard, as is in a UK layout. Using the silicone layover hasn’t proved to be an issue for me, but it definitely is not the ideal fix for this situation. If ACEMAGIC really wants to help capture the UK market, they will need proper UK layout keyboards, and unfortunately, that is all there is to it. The silicone layover is nice, as at least we get some sort of UK layout, but many will not want to use this, and I would imagine once it gets dirty or a slight tear, it won’t fit as it once did, which will then cause issues.
Performance
In all honesty, I have not run any benchmarks on the ACEMAGIC TX15. Why, you may ask? Well, this laptop is not designed to be an absolute workhorse. Instead, it is designed to offer consumers an affordable option to do standard tasks, and it does that well.
Using the TX15 for daily tasks such as browsing the web, watching YouTube, checking email, and even word processing is amazing! This is where the TX15 shines and this is exactly where it is meant to shine!
The battery life can easily last 5+ hours on a single charge, depending on the tasks at hand. Watching videos in full screen will greatly reduce that, but this is to be expected on any device. If you are just browsing the internet or doing your daily tasks, the battery life should easily see you through without the need to be charged while using it.
Final Words
If you are looking for a budget-friendly laptop to get you by, then the ACEMAGIC TX15 is a great choice. If you need something with a bit of power, for editing or gaming, then you may want to keep looking, as this is designed for everyday tasks.
As mentioned, the battery life and screen are amazing for a machine at this price point. While you have to use the included silicone mat to get a UK layout on the keyboard, it hasn’t been an issue during the initial testing phase. However, I can only speculate that over time, it may not fit as nicely as it originally did when first installed.
The ACEMAGIC TX15 is an affordable laptop that sets out to allow users to access the internet and do basic tasks without the need to spend a fortune on a new laptop. It has plenty enough USB ports and even an HDMI port, so you can connect it to an external monitor, allowing you to make the most of it.
If just the basics are all you need, then this could very well be the laptop for you, as it is worth checking out. ACEMAGIC has done a brilliant job of offering an affordable laptop that looks good and performs equally as well!
