Ocypus Delta L36 White ARGB V2 Review: Low Price with High Performance

Earlier we tested a flagship liquid cooler from PCCOOLER which is Iota L36. This time around we are taking a look at their budget segment cooler named Delta L36 ARGB V2. This cooler is available in 240mm and 360mm sizes in white and black. The Delta L36 ARGB White V2 has MSRP of USD 70 and comes in a 3-year warranty.

This cooler features a pump top with a layered lighting effect comprising stacked circular layers. This cooler features their new pump for efficient cooling. The fans come pre-installed over the radiator, and cable management is reduced as well.

This cooler is compatible with Intel LGA115x/1200/1700/1851 and AMD AM4/AM5 sockets. The cooler is rated for 300W TDP.

Closer Look

It is time to take a look at the unit itself.

Radiator

The three White fans come pre-installed on the radiator. The fans have the Ocypus brand theme at the center.

The fans are daisy-chained with a small length cable. The connection to the motherboard is done using an extension cable that has standard connectors at one end and a proprietary connector on the other end.

The aluminum radiator is finished in white spray coating. It has a dimension of 397x120x27mm (LxWxH). Here, 27mm refers to the height of the unit. The overall height with 120x25mm fans is 52mm approximately.

The radiator has a 20 FPI count and has 12 channels for the coolant flow inside the radiator. There is a gap of 105mm between the two mounting holes on opposite ends.

I am showing the side view of the unit. There is an Ocypus branding towards the right of the radiator frame. Ocypus uses rubber tubes with a nylon braided sleeve. The tube length is 400mm. The tube has an ID of 6.5mm and an OD of 12mm.

Ocypus uses white metallic clamps to conceal the connection between tubes and barb fittings. There is a sticker label showing the serial number of the unit.

Pump Top

Let’s take a look at the design of the pump block.

The pump housing has a stylish design. The top cover is frosted and features ARGB LEDs underneath. Its dimension is 74.5x60mm. The design is circular. It has no branding of any sort, which is nice.

All sides of housing have no texture or branding whatsoever. You can see a protruded tip of the top cover, giving a hint that it is removable.

I have removed the top cover to show the PCB. You are not required to take it off or rotate it anyway.

You can see a green PCB with 11 ARGB LEDs.

Looking at the backside of the housing, you can see the 90ᵒ fittings with tube connection. The tube connections can be rotated to adjust for any user requirement. The clamps are white as well, which we seldom see in such coolers.

The pump is powered by a 3-pin DC cable. The ARGB LEDs are powered and controlled by standard 3-pin, 5V connector cables. The pump is rated for 2650 RPM ±10%. It is rated for 6.4W using 0.53A at 12VDC with a noise level of ≤ 17 dB(A).

The copper base has a protective cover over it. Don’t forget to peel the cover before installing the block.

Fans

The Delta L36 V2 comes with three ARGB fans. Each fan has 7x blades. Like the fans on Iota L36, the fan on Delta L36 features the same silver color center. I am not sure if they are using a metal reinforced shell on these fans or not. The mounting corners have a slope-down design. The holes have a circular anti-vibration pad.

The frame features an inset design with a circular border. Two arrows on one side indicate the direction of airflow and the direction in which blades spin.

A 4-arms assembly on the backside is in spiral shape to direct the airflow coming out of the blade assembly. The fans are made in China, and they use hydraulic bearings. They are rated for 0.2A at 12VDC each.

Each fan features a proprietary connector.

Installation

We are not covering the details of installation. We only report any issue or observation recorded during installation. The installation on the AMD AM5 socket is a simple and convenient task. I have no observation to mention here.

Clearance

You need to ensure that your PC Case supports a 360mm AIO in a 397x120x52mm size.

A-RGB Lighting

This cooler uses standard connectors, which makes the A-RGB lighting compatible with the RGB sync technology of the motherboard manufacturers. I have tested the cooler on the ASRock X870E NOVA WiFi motherboard and controlled the lighting using the PolyChrome Sync app. It was working flawlessly.

Testing

The following configuration is used for thermal testing:

  • AMD Ryzen 9 9900X
  • ASRock X870E NOVA WiFi
  • GSkill TridentZ NEO RGB 32GB 6400MHz CL30 DDR5 kit
  • Maxsun B850 Graphics Card for Display
  • WD SN850 500GB NVME SSD
  • Fractal Design ION+ 2P 860W Platinum PSU
  • Thermaltake Core P6 TG Snow Edition in an open frame layout

Here is the settings table for testing:

I am reporting absolute temperature in the graph because the room temperature was at 22°C throughout the day. The testing is done on an open-air bench system. Once inside the chassis, the temperatures are expected to rise and would largely depend on the optimal airflow inside the chassis.

Result

The Ocypus Delta L36 White ARGB V2 offers a fantastic performance, which can be seen from the graph. This cooler is not loud either. Overall, this cooler is a win-win for the end user given its overall performance, ARGB lighting, and the pocket-friendly pricing.

Conclusion

I have tested the Delta L36 ARGB White V2 cooler from Ocypus. This cooler is compatible with Intel LGA115x/1200/1700/1851 and AMD AM4/AM5 sockets. This cooler is not compatible with the Intel LGA20xx socket.

We have an aluminum-made radiator measuring 397x120x27mm. The complete assembly is white. The total height of this cooler with 120x25mm fans is approximately 52 mm. The radiator has a 20 FPI count, and it has 12 channels for coolant flow. Ocypus uses rubber tubes with nylon braided sleeves, having a length of 400mm.

The block or pump top features a layered, stacked lighting effect on the top cover. The cover has no branding or text, which is a nice touch. The lighting effects come from 11 digital RGB LEDs. This cooler has a copper base, and Ocypus has provided a thermal paste tube as well. The pump is not PWM regulated and has a speed of 2650 RPM ±10%.

Ocypus has provided 3x ARGB fans with this cooler. Each fan has 7x blades. These fans are rated for a maximum of 2000 RPM ± 10% speed, generating 73 CFM airflow while maintaining 4.3mmH₂O static pressure. Their noise rating is ≤29 dBA. These fans have short length cables that are to be connected to a 3-way PWM splitter cable. These fans use Hydraulic bearings.

The installation of this cooler on the AMD AM5 socket requires 9 items in 3 steps. The installation is simple and convenient. Since this cooler uses standard connectors on the A-RGB cable, it is compatible with RGB Sync technology of the motherboard manufacturers.

The Delta L36 has an MSRP of USD 69.99 and comes with a 3-year warranty from the manufacturer. In our testing, this cooler has performed competitively with some high-priced offers on the market.
